Class Dismissed

I mentioned several weeks ago that I was going to take an online course through the local community college on PhotoShop Elements 5.0. I know, 6.0 is available, and so is a course, but I have 5.0 and I am going to learn it before moving on. I love photography, although I am only slightly better than a novice at it. Mostly because I have not devoted the time required to become as proficient as I would like. I took this course to learn about some of the fun stuff you can do with the program, like the clone tool, magic healing brush, and some of the special effects.
Since we are taking the grand kids to Disney World in June, I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn more about the program and then apply some of it to the photos I will be taking. I have finished the course. Today I took the final exam in comfort of my home and made a 97 on it!!! WoooHooo!!! I changed a right answer to a wrong answer or I would have had a perfect score. Not bad for an old man that is only a few years from retirement.
I took this course just to see if I would like this format and if the instruction was any good. It was excellent. I loved the course. I liked the format and the convenience. Two lessons were released each week, with a two week time frame for completion. The course lasted six weeks. By printing out the lessons and quizzes, I now have a two inch binder of resource material.

Yes, you're going to be subjected to some of my handiwork in the coming months so get used to it. There is an advanced course that starts in a couple of weeks and I will enroll in it tomorrow!

I probably should take a class too. I love digital photography but could learn a lot more about it. Can't wait to see your 'homework'.

Ornery and I are planning to take a class in the fall(if I can find one at TCC) on the Adobe Creative Suite, which is photoshop, N-Design (?) and Illustrator. We have elements, but don't really know much about how to use it. Ornery has played around with it, I haven't even loaded it on my computer! I am really interested in being able to make some of my own paper (background) designs for cards.

In reality, I am pretty sure that this would be an excellent excuse to spend HOURS longer on my computer than I already do! Congrats on your excellent score, btw. That's awesome!
