Thursday Thirteen No. 23

Thirteen Albums on My MP3 Player

I'm sure you've been asking yourself the question, "What kind of music does this guy listen to?"

Well, I like a variety of music. I love Southern Gospel, but that is another post for another day. When I am working, driving, or just sitting around surfing the net to tunes, these are some of the tunes I have qued up. Some will be familiar to you, some, not so much. If you're looking for some different tunes next time your shopping for music, you might give a couple of these a listen.

Eric Clapton/B.B. King - Riding With the King

Joe Cocker - Organic

Loggins & Messina- The Best Sittin' In Again

Linda Ronstadt - Greatest Hits Vols. 1 & 2

The Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden

The Eagles - The Very Best of The Eagles

Stone Country - Various Country Artists

(Tribute to the Rolling Stones)

Delbert McClinton - One of The Fortunate Few

Garth Brooks - The Hits

Various Country Artists - Tribute to Tradition

John Fogerty - Rivival

John Fogerty - Blue Moon Swamp

Sir Elton John - Greatest Hits 1970-2002

Well, there you have it. Since I have an 8Gig MP3 player, this is only a sampling of what is on it, but, you get the idea. Now I've shown you mine, you show me yours.

Here's a little Delbert McClinton for you blues fans. Enjoy.

I have none of them on my iPod. I can say that with certainty because I don't have an iPod!

You've got some good stuff there! Now with you being a Joe Cocker fan I need to know if you have ever heard of Phil Driscoll. He's a Christian singer and has been around for a super long time...did a jail stint (tax evasion-I think) recently released. Check him out on youtube my friend...you'll be amazed at the uncanny resemblence in voice, appearance AND gestures! He even did a clip of "You are so Beautiful"!

A bit ecclectic but who am I to talk? I think I could only listen to Elton John up through the 70's. After that you can keep his stuff.

Thanks for visiting my 13 iPod song by the Mystery artist.

The song "Riding with the King," is much better in its original form by John Hiatt. Hiatt fits right in with all this kind of music that you like, so if you're not already a fan, you should really check him out.

I saw BB King every year for about two solid decades in Toronto... I first went as a kid with my mom to his (at one time) annual show at a place called "Ontario Place"... and made it a pilgrimage from there on until they sadly ceased. (I wanted to say that on your last post I commented on as you said you'd be "Lucille" if you were an instrument...) GREAT list!

OK Mister, here's the thing...you need to get outta my head!

Dang! We have too many things in common. I like most of the things you have on your list here...I don't have them all in my catalog, but it's only because I haven't purchased them yet.

I enjoy the Eagles, but the others are out of my league, apparently! Happy TT :)

What a cool playlist! I haven't thought of Loggins & Messina in ages but I used to love "Full Sail" (on vinyl). I'll have to dig it out. (Thanks for visiting my TT)

Good selections all! If I owned an MP3 or iPod … I’d definitely have the Eagles, Elton John, Loggins & Messina, Linda Ronstadt, John Fogerty, and Garth Brooks on mine … along with some James Taylor and John Denver (among others).
Hugs and blessings,

I've had an ipod for a year and so far all I have on it is the music scores from a couple of movies.

Great list. Some of those albulm covers bring back memories.

Thanks for visiting my faith list at Got Bible.
