Play Ball!

I know. Major League baseball started in March. Little league, for the most part started in late May or early June, but for the grandson, it started last week! You see, he's actually too young to play T-ball, but due to numerous rain-outs, the season has been extended and players are missing due to previously planned vacations. So, the coach called my son-in-law and asked if "The Big Guy" would like to fill in when needed. At 4-1/2 years old, he jumped at the chance to wear a jersey, ball cap, and cleats. I will say that it is entertaining. I wouldn't call it baseball, but it is fun to watch. Here a a couple of photos of the boy and his game.

Ahhh, how cute! Darling!

Kind of makes me guilty to spoof TX high school football (with some pop warner thrown in) Sports for the youg 'un's is an amazing thing...just keep about half of the adults out of it!

BTW...Garret Williams is my second cousin...was he not amazing last year???

Nice form on his throwing hand...glove should be closer to his body...

HEY...we going to make him a major leaguer or not?

LOL

I'm a sucker for a cute little boy. My interpretation of the pics:

First pic: sheer determination and the boy means business!

second pic: "I got my eye on the prize!"

Third pic: that smile is what it's about... not the majors.

Precious!

What a QT and how fun to see him getting the opportunity to participate! He looks very focused (and serious) about the experience too! Thanks for sharing.

What a hoot! The glove is almost as big as he is!! Hope he enjoyed it enough to come back to it next year and the year after.... I deeply miss seeing my son play baseball. I would bring some applique work (quilting) and sit near the dugout and laugh at the few rabid parents and cheer every single player.

I love how he's so determined, with that tongue out! But even still he's smiling!
