We are having our first major winter event tonight, and it is ice! That's right a light mist, drizzle, what ever you want to call it has been falling for several hours now. With the air temperature at 25 degrees, everything is frozen. There is probably about 0.25" of ice covering the streets and sidewalks right now. It is supposed to accumulate between 0.50"-1.5" of pure ice by late Tuesday.
1.5" of ice will begin to break tree limbs and take down some power lines. Needless to say, I will not be going to work in the morning. That's not an altogether bad thing. It's like a snow day, except that it is truly too dangerous to get out and drive around. I suspect that some people will be without power before this storm passes. All of that pink you see in the Rogers/Fayetteville area is freezing rain.

I'm sure you have provisions if you are without power. I remember this happening last year too. It was awful. I can't imagine living somewhere that can get that cold. I know, I just need to move to Hawaii.
Have a great evening and stay warm and safe. Big hug. :)
I heard about this ice storm during the OU-OSU game tonight. Be safe.
Stay home, stay safe, and take more amazing photo's within your onw home!
We've been crazy cold (Okay, I'm from Texas, so crazy cold to me is like...18 degrees, you northerners don't attack me for this!) But we couldn't buy any moisture, and we sure do need it.
They say it is heading our way...raining here now with temps hovering at 33 degrees...
I live in Boston and we are expected six inches of snow tonight. I am going to see a friend in Texas and they are having an ice storm today!
