I haven't done a meme in ages. I found this one over at "The Big Leather Couch" , which is one of my favorite places in all of the blogosphere. There is a link in the sidebar and I encourage to drop by there sometime. I had a feeling that not all of the answers would make much sense, because my MP3 has Christmas music, Christian music, Country music, Rock and Blues on it. So, when I keep all of the songs in play, it can be a little awkward. I may try this again sometime and limit my answers to specific play lists. At any rate, here are the results.
RULES
1. Put Your iTunes, Windows Media Player, MP3 Player, or whatever on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write down the name of the song no matter how silly it sounds!
4. Tag at least 10 friends (including the person who sent this to you)
If someone says, ‘Are you okay?’ You say:
We Fall Down - Randy Travis, Worship and Faith
I've fallen down more times than I care to count. The question is, will you get back up.
How would you describe yourself?
Song for Our Ancestors - Steve Miller Band, The Best of 1968-1973
I can't carry a tune in a bucket.
What do you like in a guy/girl?
Mama Tried - Randy Travis, Tribute to Tradition
Well, I like to think that both of her parents were involved in her upbringing.
How do you feel today?
Gone, gone, gone - Robert Plant/Allison Kraus, Raising Sand
That pretty much says it all.
What is your life’s purpose?
Walking in a Hurricane - John Fogerty, Blue Moon Swamp
It may not be my purpose, but it is often my calling.
What is your motto?
Will the Circle be Unbroken - Bryan White, Amazing Grace 2
This one works for me.
What do you think of your parents?
I Don't Want to be The One - Trisha Yearwood, Where Your Road Leads
Hey, I'm an only child! I couldn't think of having better parents, so yes, I do want to be the one.
What do you think about very often?
A Hundred and Ten in the Shade - John Fogerty, Blue Moon Swamp
Well, it does get warm here in the summer, but I try not to think too much about it.
What do you think of your best friend?
They Can't Take That Away From Me - Rod Stewart, Great American Songbook
I've been married to my best friend for nearly thirty-five years. Nuff said.
What do you think of the person you like?
Hey Jude - The Beatles, One
Huh?
What is your life story?
Take it Easy - Eagles, The Very Best of
Life is too short to be stressed out all of the time. This answer fits me pretty well.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I Want to Hold Your Hand - Beatles, One
Huh Number 2. Well, I didn't know it at the time, but I couldn't think of a better thing to be when I grew up than the husband of my bride.
What do you think of when you see the person you like?
Only Time Can Heal the Wounded - Chicago, Twenty-one
I hope I've not wounded her that often and she does heal quickly.
What will you dance to at your wedding?
Farther Along - Randy Travis, Worship and Faith
I dance better than I sing.
What will they play at your funeral?
Powerful Thing - Trisha Yearwood, Where Your Road Leads
I don't know about that.
What is your hobby/interest?
Only the Young - Journey, Revelation
Whoa!!! I don't think so. Sometimes I would be interested in being a 20 something or 30 something again, but only if I can take my 60 something wisdom with me.
What is your biggest secret?
How Great Thou Art - Martina McBride, Amazing Grace 1
That's no secret. God is good, God is Great...How Great Thou Art.
What do your friends think of you?
It Had to be You-Rod Stewart, The Great American Songbook
Some of them probably regret that it had to be me.
What do you think of your friends?
The Old Landmark - Signature Sound Quartet, Dream On
Huh Number 3.
I also haven't posted an inspirational song in a while either. Here is one from the Crabb Revival. Some days we all feel like we need to be rescued.

Friday Thoughts
The Christmas season is in full swing at our house. It is fully decorated, most of the shopping is done and we can now just enjoy the season and some of the events that we've been invited to attend.
Tomorrow night is my office annual dinner.
Tomorrow morning is the city Christmas parade and the grand son will be riding on one of the floats. I don't think anyone has taught him the "parade wave" yet.
At high noon our local high school football team plays for the state championship, and at 7:00 p.m. my Oklahoma Sooners play for the Big 12 championship and the opportunity to play for the National title. BOOMER, Sooner!!!
Sunday is a special event sponsored by the youth group. My wife did some of the decorations for it. I will photograph those and post some of them next week.
Monday I will begin posting photos of decorations around our house and around our city. There will be something new almost everyday until Christmas, so come back often.
And now for a little inspirational music. The first song may not be a traditional Christmas carol, but it does convey the message of the season. Ernie Haase and Signature Sound perform "Glory to God in The Highest."
I did install lights in front of my house this year, but it is nothing like this.

Friday Thoughts
It's been an interesting week. I've had a pain in my shoulder most of the time and nothing will make it go away. Believe me, I've tried everything, heat, cold, Advil, Tylenol, Alieve, aspirin (separately and in concert), massage...you name it, I've tried it and I still hurt.
The economy may be going into the toilet but, for some reason, our business is doing well. I am actually interviewing applicants for new positions. Thank you Lord.
It's going to be cold here this week-end, so I'll be building a fire Saturday I'm sure.
My bride and I may take in a Saturday matinee of the new James Bond film. That could be fun.
I know my bride is planning on getting a head start on her Christmas shopping. That may not be quite so much fun.
The inspirational song this week is a worship and praise song that we have been singing in church recently. I really like the chorus. It is a departure from the hymns and gospel music that I usually post on Friday, but I hope you enjoy it all the same. Have a great week-end and may God bless you and yours.

Friday's Thoughts
We're off to Tulsa later this morning. We're going to see my dad. We're taking two of the grandcrew with us. The other two will arrive later this evening with their parents. The oldest is playing in a soccer tournament in Broken Arrow, OK on Saturday and Sunday. I should be a fun weekend for everyone.
In a day and age when people are looking for answers and there seem to be none to be found I would encourage you to look to the Creator of life.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:1
"...I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die...." John 11:25-26
"I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
The answers to life's questions can be found in God's Word. It is life's instruction book and it will speak to your every need. Today's inspirational song, "Word of God Speak" from Mercy Me. Enjoy.

Friday Thoughts
It's been a long week. I spent much less time being an architect and much more time being an adult daycare specialist. That's just the way it is when you have seventy people in your department.
I've had trouble sleeping this week. At least three times I have awakened at 3:00 a.m., again at 4:00 a.m. and finally I just get up at 5:00 a.m., wander into the home office and play on the computer until 6:00 a.m., then get ready and go to work. I think tomorrow morning I just may go fishing for a couple of hours.
I missed a real photo opportunity the other day and I apologize for that. My wife gave a demonstration on table decorations for fall and Christmas at the church. The two tables she set were something out of Southern Living! The Christmas table was simply stunning. The girl could give Martha Stewart a run for her money. I should have had my camera and photographed them to share on a Ruby Tuesday or Wordless Wednesday. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.
I've got to make a business trip to California in a couple of weeks. I'm not really looking forward to that because I hate driving in and around LA traffic. The good thing is that I will be in the Long Beach area. I need to start locating a few good restaurants. Maybe Diners, Drive Inns, and Dives have some suggestions.
After my 401K took several nasty hits these past couple of weeks, I finally moved all of what's left into money market. I'll put it back after the first of the year. I just don't think anything is going to settle down until at least the first quarter of next year.
Could we just go ahead and vote now? The vice-presidential debate is on and I have absolutely no interest in it. I am sooooooo tired of politics right now. And I thought the Super Bowl pre-game show as too long! I have seen and heard all that I need to see and hear. I have made my decision and I am ready to cast my ballot.
Life circumstances have prevented me from posting an inspirational song for a couple of weeks, so let's close this week with a classic. Arguably the best gospel singer ever was Mahalia Jackson. Here is her classic arrangement of Precious Lord Take My Hand. Enjoy.

Friday's Thoughts
I had to travel out of town last night. Got back this afternoon, so I'm a little tired around the edges.
I'm in chapters 6 & 7 of my study of the book of Revelation. Like all of God's Word, it is a source of joy, hope, strength, and comfort.
I have had some wonderful photo opportunities this past week. You can see a couple of them in my recent posts. I have a couple of more coming up next week. Stay tuned for Ruby Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday.
My friend with Lou Gehrig's disease is not doing well. He is down to 110 lbs. Last year he was a healthy 195. He is ready to go home to the Lord. His family is prepared as well. I am going to miss him. I guess that's all I've got for now. It is Friday and time for an inspirational song. Thinking about my friend and the difficult journey that he has still ahead of him, I know that when everything looks dark, and there appears to be little hope, Jesus Loves Me! As a Christian, our hope is not here. Our joy is not here. Our security is not here. In John 14:2-3, Christ said, "In My Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a pace for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. Our hope is not here, nor is our home. My friend is going to a glorious place because he has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. It is our only hope! That hope was made possible because "Jesus Loves Me." The simplest of messages in a simple hymn. Enjoy.
